Two thousand reptiles seized in Malaysia
On December 20th, custom officials seized 1.800 reptiles, including monitor lizards, snakes, freshwater turtles and tortoises. There were Manouria emys and Hieremys annandalii, both included as Endangered in the IUCN Red list, and also Heosemys grandis, which is listed as Vulnerable in the Red list.
This is the biggest seizure of the year in Malaysia, with 4.3 tonnes of reptiles.
